The main development of Focusing

Two major areas of development exist in the world of Focusing and were appointed by Gendlin himself.

axis of individual development includes Focusing and its natural extension to the emergence of innovative thinking: thinking Threshold Emergence (PSE). The process of thought at the Threshold of Emergence (PSE) was introduced at the University of Chicago Gendlin taught a multidisciplinary course inviting students discover that putting the world what they "knew" without even the words to say, they could contribute to the history of evolution. This practice of PES outcome of the Philosophy of the Implicit Gendlin, led to new concepts in physics, biology and all other disciplines where it is used. The axis of the individual development proposed by Gendlin and included the practice of Focusing and that of the PES corresponds to the upper diagram AQAL Ken Wilber.

The axis of collective development, corresponding to the bottom of the diagram AQAL Ken Wilber, includes a social practice of Focusing going towards its integration into the overall process of the Inter Human Attention (PAIH). Gendlin, in his most recent writings develops this line of development and outlines. It proposes actions to be undertaken by stakeholders and coordinators of the Institute of Focusing and encourages us to form small groups to work together on our projects and collaborate with groups from other social organizations.
